Sealed proposals will be received by regular or certified mail at the office of the Freedom Township Fiscal Officer, 7827 King Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266, or delivered by hand to the Freedom Town Hall, 8966 S.R. 700, by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, at which time bids shall close and, at said time and place, shall be publicly opened and read aloud.
Proposals will be for the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project known as: HANKEE ROAD (T.H. 224-A) (ASBURY TO STAMM).
A contract will be awarded contingent upon a Grant Agreement being received from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the Issue II Project.
Contract documents, bid sheets, plans and specifications can be obtained after July 30, 2010, from Road Supervisor Charles VanSteenberg at the Freedom Township Garage located at 9302 S.R. 700. Call 330.527.7414 (township garage) or 330.620.3555 (cell phone) between 8:00 am & 3:00 pm.
Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.
Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than OCTOBER 15, 2010.
Effective November 16, 1998, in accordance with an Ohio Public Works Commission Advisory, the rules, regulations and practices of the Minority Business Enterprise Program (MBE) have been rescinded.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Portage County and the Township of Freedom, Ohio, as determined by the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations.
The Township reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.
